Preventative Wellness Exams
Your pet is important to us and so is their health. To ensure your pet lives a very long happy life, we recommend your pet to have at least one comprehensive wellness health exam per year. Wellness exams along with routine diagnostic testing will benefit your pet by allowing us to establish a baseline for your pets overall health and can also help us identify any possible health issues which are easier to treat earlier in their development. This is also a good time to go over any questions or concerns you may have and discuss any additional needs you have regarding your dog or cat.
Senior Wellness Exams
Senior Wellness Exams are recommended twice a year for pets over the age of 7 years. As your pet ages, your senior pet may benefit from unique diets and exercise regimen changes that will help them live comfortably into their golden years.
We want to help your pet enjoy as many years as possible by your side and early detection is critical. If your pet develops a health issue, it is important to catch these changes as early as possible, as that’s when we are best able to treat it. Some of the common health issues in senior pets include: Heart Disease, Thyroid Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Arthritis, Periodontal Disease, Senility and Cancer. We can help you and your pet to keep your pet happy and healthy.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations help protect your pet from disease and typically begin around 6-8 weeks of age. Based on your pets lifestyle, risk factors and exposures, we will help you decide which vaccines are appropriate and will tailor vaccinations to your pet’s needs.
Keeping your pet healthy is our main goal. It is very important to administer vaccines at the correct age and time interval so developing an appropriate vaccine schedule for your pet is our priority. Call us today to set up an appointment to discuss your pet’s vaccination needs. As our client, we will keep you up to date when your pets will be due for booster vaccinations during their adult years. We believe in individual care.

It is a priority to address pain promptly. We will carefully assess your pet’s condition and offer the most effective forms of pain management.
Dermatology
Skin problems can be unpleasant. Your pet can suffer from many of the same dermatological conditions that we do, including allergies and infections. Dealing with itchy, dry or painful skin can significantly diminish your pet’s quality of life. We are here to help you and your pet.

Your pet’s dental health has a large impact on their overall health. We provide complete oral examinations for your pet and will provide a personalized dental treatment plan for you. Through Preventative Dental Treatment, (teeth cleaning, scaling and polishing and digital dental X-rays) we can determine if your pet suffers from periodontal disease, needs a tooth extraction or requires minor oral surgeries. We also offer a wide range of dental products including specialized dental diets, dental chews and pet toothpaste and toothbrushes!
Surgery
In order to provide you with the highest quality of veterinary care, we offer a wide range of surgical services for our patients. In addition to routine spay and neuter surgeries for your pet, we also perform soft tissue surgeries such as tumor removal, wound reconstruction, bladder stone removal, and biopsies. During these surgeries we utilize modern and sophisticated surgical monitoring equipment to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet.
Hospital Care
If your pets condition is serious, we may need to provide inpatient hospitalization. We know that this can be a difficult and stressful time for you and your pet but please know that we provide the best care possible. We try to make them feel at home with comfy beds and blankets and exceptional personalized attention.
Diagnostics
Our hospital maintains an in-house diagnostics laboratory. There are several tests that we commonly run in order to diagnose or stage your pet’s health affliction. A Urinalysis will test for kidney disease or diabetes. Blood chemistry panels allow us to check the functioning of your pet’s liver, kidney, pancreas and gallbladder. Complete blood counts can tell us whether or not your pet is dehydrated or anemic, or showing signs of cancer, autoimmune or tick borne diseases.
Radiology
Our digital radiography or x-ray equipment is state-of-the-art allowing us to obtain clearer images of your pet’s internal organs, bones and joints since they cannot tell us where they are hurting. Digital radiography is a completely painless procedure for your pet, and can be used to examine bone fractures, tumors, bladder stones, and certain problems with the heart, stomach, intestines, and reproductive or urinary systems.
Underwater Treadmill
We offer Underwater Treadmill Hydrotherapy to treat many conditions such as arthritis, post-operative recovery, obesity and spinal injuries. Walking in water is a great form of conditioning for healthy pets, for active pets who need to burn off some energy or to help older dogs to ambulate better and improve their muscle strength.
Dog Training
Daniela Terrosi has over a decade of experience as a dog trainer. She does from basic manner classes to Good Citizen certifications. At Nease Animal Hospital she offers group puppy classes, and AKC Good citizen classes. Also, she can come to your house and do private sessions as well.
Grooming
We are happy to provide bath and brush out services to aid in making sure your pet is clean and smells fresh. Bathing services include routine washing, medicated bathing treatments, nail trimming, ear cleaning, coat brushing, and blow drying. All pets coming in for bathing services must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Kennel Cough vaccines as well as annual heartworm and stool testing.
Canine Rehabilitation
Canine rehabilitation focuses on soft tissue rather than on bones and joints. Treatment goals are designed to optimize movement and quality of life for the patient. Rehabilitation helps if your pet has cruciate tear or hip dysplasia or arthritis. Rehabilitation helps your pet after TPLO, Total Hip Replacement, Fracture repair or other canine orthopedic surgeries to get your pet back to feeling better faster.
Alternative (Integrative) Medicine
Whenever there are subtle imbalances in the body, integrative medicine can be used to boost the body’s innate healing mechanisms. Some examples of holistic healing techniques are acupuncture, spinal manipulation, and other traditional TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) techniques.
Euthanasia
We understand the decision to euthanize is a difficult one. If you’re not sure if it’s time, we can schedule a consultation with the doctor. When the time comes, we will be here to help and offer compassionate care either at our hospital, or in your own home.
