Care You Can Count On

Your pet’s health and well-being are our top priorities. To help your pet live a long and happy life, we recommend scheduling at least one comprehensive wellness exam each year. These exams, combined with routine diagnostic tests, allow us to establish a health baseline and detect any potential issues early when they’re easier to treat. It’s also an ideal opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have and discuss any additional needs for your dog or cat.

What to Expect During a Wellness Visit

Temperature Check

We use a digital rectal thermometer to quickly take your pet’s temperature. This simple yet crucial step helps us spot potential health concerns early.

Skin and Coat Analysis

Your pet’s fur can reveal a lot about their internal health. Our examination looks for signs of allergies, nutrient deficiencies, and other conditions to give us a comprehensive view of your pet’s well-being.

Heart Health Assessment

We listen to your pet’s heart rhythm with a stethoscope to ensure their heart is functioning properly. For a more detailed examination, we might suggest an echocardiogram.

Respiratory Check

By monitoring your pet’s breathing rate, we can detect any irregularities. If your pet is panting or showing other signs of respiratory distress, we’ll perform additional tests to pinpoint the issue.

Abdominal Examination

A hands-on assessment of the abdomen helps us check for irregularities in the vital organs. If we detect any lumps or bumps, we’ll recommend further diagnostic tests.

Dental Health Inspection

Dental care is often overlooked but vital for your pet’s overall health. We’ll check for issues like bad breath and gum health and may recommend professional cleanings to keep your pet’s teeth in top shape.

Eyes and Ears Inspection

We ensure your pet’s vision and hearing are functioning well, paying special attention to common issues like ear infections. If needed, we’ll provide prescriptions for treatment.

Paw and Nail Check

We inspect your pet’s paws and nails for injuries or issues, offering nail trims if necessary to keep them comfortable and healthy.

Vaccination Protocol

To protect your pet from preventable diseases, we administer necessary vaccinations. Starting with puppies and kittens at eight weeks old, we continue with regular boosters to keep their immunity strong.

By covering these essential aspects, our wellness visits aim to keep your pet happy and healthy for years to come.
